MOULD ILLNESS: 3 COMMON MISTAKES
3 COMMON MISTAKES TO AVOID IF YOU'VE GOT MOULD ILLNESS
Here are the things you SHOULD NOT DO until you're out of the mould, and have at least started the process of removing mould from your body.
1- TRYING TO KILL THINGS TOO SOON!
Using supplements to treat Candida, SIFO, SIBO and/or Parasites as a first step will result in a mycotoxin overload in your body, an increase in symptoms, and even worse, no results. When you ‘kill things’, they release even more mycotoxins in your body. These mycotoxins can’t get out of your body, causing an inflammatory cascade.
Mould may lead to Leaky Gut, Candida, SIFO, SIBO and Parasites (via a few different mechanisms, one of which being that it lowers MSH. MSH protects against intestinal permeability and is antimicrobial. So low MSH can lead to leaky gut and an overgrowth of bugs in your gut.)
It therefore makes sense to deal with mould first.
Trying to heal your gut while you’re still in mould is like trying to heal gravel rash on your knee, while scraping your knee on abrasive concrete 24 times a day! It’s exhausting!
2- TRYING TO DETOX TOO QUICKLY
Many clients start an aggressive detoxification protocol that typically involves taking liver cleansing herbs (like milk thistle, dandelion & turmeric) and supplements (like NAC & glutathione) in an attempt to force mould and other toxins out of their bodies at a rate that your body simply can’t keep up with.
This approach floods your body with toxins that have nowhere to go. This is because the HLA-DR haplotype is associated with a deficit in excreting mould toxins, and...
Mould blocks detox pathways.

3- TREATING MARCoNS TOO SOON
MARCoNS (Multiple Antibiotic Resistant Coagulase Negative Staphylococci) is an antibiotic resistant staph that resides deep in the nasal passage of 80% of people with low MSH (Melanocyte-Stimulating Hormone). As mentioned above, mould reduces MSH, which is why many people with mould illness have MARCoNS. MSH is then further lowered by MARCoNS, creating a vicious cycle.
Although treating MARCoNS is essential, treating it too soon can cause severe ‘die-off’.
